Goodnight Mama Africa. We Will Miss You
This morning the world lost a great and soul stirring voice and true champion of human rights. South African native and internationally reknowned songtress Miriam Makeba died early this morning after performing in Italy. From the legendary Pata Pata song to Malaika, Makeba showed the world the beauty of G-d given talent and deep melodic thought provoking sounds. Mama Africa, as those familiar with her music liked to call her, pour a rich, heart filled sound into every performance and recording. Although banned from her native country for nearly forty years, her sound exemplified her true desire for a better more perfect South Africa free of Apartheid. This woman was one of G-d's truest gifts to the world. Thank you for your presence Mama Africa!
